GERRY JOE WEISE was born in 1959 in Sydney, Australia. At the age of 8 years old, he won a prize for his coloured drawing of Saturn on Australia's National television.
In 1980 he moved to Europe, living In France, Germany and Switzerland before moving back to Australia in 1999.
Since the early 1980s he has exhibited extensively in Europe, where his works belong to museums, public institutions and private collections. Gerry Joe Weise spends 50% of his time with Visual Arts and the other 50% with music, where he is a well known Blues guitarist and vocalist, releasing several solo albums.
THE DRAWINGS are a short retrospective of different styles Gerry Joe Weise was experimenting with between Europe and Australia on his many voyages in the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. These drawings deal with New Realism, Photo Realisim, Expressionism, Cartoon Art, Lowbrow Art and Primitive Art.
